Choose care products for the material and finish of your shoes. Always follow the instructions for the individual style and test a cleaner or protector on a small, hidden area first.
Before you clean
- Check the upper material on the product page or care label.
- Use a product intended for that material. Smooth-leather polish is not a substitute for suede or nubuck care.
- Avoid soaking leather or suede footwear, and keep it out of the washing machine and tumble dryer.
Smooth leather
FitFlop recommends wiping its smooth-leather shoes with a damp cloth. Choose a compatible cleaner, polish or conditioner according to the brand’s instructions. Let wet footwear dry naturally away from direct heat and sunlight.
Suede and nubuck
For suede FitFlop shoes, let mud dry before gently brushing the upper with a suede brush. Use suede- or nubuck-specific products where appropriate, rather than smooth-leather creams or polish.
Canvas and knit
Check the instructions for your style before cleaning fabric shoes. FitFlop’s knit care guidance uses cold water, mild soap and gentle hand cleaning, followed by air drying.
Hunter rubber boots
Clean the rubber exterior gently with a soft cloth and cold or lukewarm water, keeping the inside dry. Allow the boots to dry away from sunlight and artificial heat. A white film can be natural rubber bloom; follow Hunter’s instructions for removing it.
UGG suede and sheepskin
Use UGG’s care instructions for your specific material. UGG advises against machine washing its boots, slippers and slides. Its Classic care routine uses appropriate care products and natural drying in a cool, ventilated space.
Storage and further help
Store footwear away from damp conditions, heaters and direct sunlight. If you are unsure which method suits your pair, contact Queue Shoes before applying a cleaning product.
